Congregational Consulting

“A church is wise to employ the services of a consultant for their guidance, objectivity and the credibility they bring to the process.”
—Aubrey Malphurs, Advanced Strategic Planning

Congregational Consulting

Congregational Consulting

City Vision works with churches helping them through the re-visioning, planning, and goal setting process. This is accomplished through several stages:

  • Discovering needs and opportunities in the community through focus groups
  • Conducting internal church focus groups and congregational demographics
  • “Shopping” the church and facility assessment
  • Community research and demographic reports
  • Congregational strengths and weaknesses assessment
  • Ministry vision, goals, and strategy

This customized process for your church gives your church a new and fresh picture of your changing community. Many churches have found the Congregational Consulting process very helpful especially in conjunction with the following circumstances:

  • A new senior pastorate begins
  • A senior pastorate ends
  • 10, 15, 20, 25, 50, 75, 100 year anniversary of the church
  • Ethnically diverse community
  • Changing community
  • Church relocation
  • Church planting process
  • Branch campus churches
  • Growing churches
  • Plateaued churches
  • Declining churches

Rev. Dr. John A. Mayer and other City Vision team members have worked with over 1,500 churches/ministries from 73 denominations.

“An example of good planning connected to good vision comes from the study of demographic trends and preparing for future impact.”
—Leith Anderson, Leadership That Works
